How to find and use e-books.

Finding and Using eBooks in the WTS Library

The Westminster Seminary Library's EDS search engine allows you to find all of our eBooks via the search box on the Library’s home page.

Once you have done a search, click the Full Text button to narrow your search results.

TIP: eBooks can be read online but if you want to download a copy, you will need Adobe Digital Editions downloaded and authorized on your computer or device. Depending on publisher rights, you may also need to create accounts to sign in to the platform where the eBooks is hosted.

Authorizing your computer:

The first time you launch Adobe Digital Editions you will be prompted to authorize your computer or device with an Adobe ID. If you don’t already have an Adobe ID, register for free at accounts.adobe.com, and then enter your Adobe ID login into Adobe Digital Editions. You can authorize any combination of up to 6 computers and devices.

Returning an eBook before the due date:

In Adobe Digital Editions, right-click on the eBook and choose “Return Borrowed Item”.

Please note that eBooks may only be downloaded on your personal computer or device and are not available for downloading at public computers in the WTS Library.

How do I log in?

If you land on a website with this logo, follow these login instructions.

TIP: These types of e-books might be labeled as Atla E-Book Lending Program OR Custom ebooks.

 

Click Login.

 

 

Choose Westminster Theological Seminary from the drop-down menu.

 

Enter your login credentials which are case-sensitive.

Barcode = Your WTS ID

Surname = Last name

***Capitalize the first letter of your last name.

For compound last names, use your WTS student email address as a guide.

After clicking the Log In button, you may check out up to 2 e-books and place holds.

 

To see your account activity, click on the User area icon.

 

 

How do I borrow an e-book from AEP?

Browse or search for a title. Click the Borrow button. If you have not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so. The title will be added to your checked-out items list.

 

You can choose to download to your device if you have already authorized your computer. (See Authorizing your computer in the General Instructions tab). Alternatively, you can choose to display in your browser if supported.

 

How many e-books may I check out?

You may check out 2 titles at a time.

 

How long may  I check them out?

You will have 14 days before it expires.

 

How do I return an e-book before the due date?

If you have not downloaded it, click the Return Now button in your list of checked out items.

In Adobe Editions, right-click on the e-book and choose “Return Borrowed Item.”

 

How do I place a hold?

 

How do I find out when the title on hold is available?

Once you place the hold, the wait time is shown. You may also click on the User area icon then Holds.
